White Peace Lily Flowers turn green
Why do my white peace lily flowers suddenly turn green?
It is not uncommon for the flowers of Spathiphyllum wallisii or Peace lily to turn from the usual white-cream colour to a green colouration.
There are two possible reasons for this. Peace lilies can last for years as a houseplant, however, if you have had the plant for a long period of time, the plant may well require repotting into a larger pot with Daltons Premium Houseplant Mix.
This is because the plant may have used all the nutrients in its current growing medium, and this can be seen in the leaves turning yellow, the flowers becoming smaller and, in some instances, a greening of the flowers. The location of the plant is also important.
Peace Lilies grown inside as houseplants must be positioned in bright, indirect light throughout the year. A dark position inside a house can also lead to the fading of the traditional cream-white coloured flowers of the Peace Lily.
