Production Supervisor, Orchiata - Matamata

Pacific Bark is a brand operating within the Daltons Limited business which manufactures Orchiata bark primarily for export. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor will manage the production and dispatch of Orchiata bark from the Matamata site. 

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the overall Orchiata production facility
• Stock management
• Supervision of 2 staff
• Reporting and administration
• Be familiar with good Health & Safety procedures and committed to a safe working environment
• Dispatch and container management.

Requirements for the role
•    Exceptional communication skills
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Ability to follow processes
•    Initiative & ability to work autonomously
•    Forklift and Loader licence (training provided if required)
•    Previous experience in a manufacturing role
•    Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Hours Required

Landscape Yard Supervisor - Mount Maunganui

We are looking for a solid dependable person with excellent customer service skills to supervise our landscape yard in Hull Road, Mount Maunganui. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right skills to coordinate the day-to-day operations of one of the few completely covered landscape yards in NZ.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing outstanding customer service
  • Supervising a small team to ensure the smooth operation of the Landscape Yard
  • Attending to both retail and commercial customer demands on a daily basis
  • Loading customers trailers with small loader (full training provided), manually loading bags
  • Organising customer deliveries, being the backup delivery driver (if qualified class 2)
  • Assisting with stock management and ordering the required levels of bulk and other landscape products
  • Completing necessary paperwork for the site, including daily cash management and invoicing
  • A continuous focus on Health & Safety procedures and improvements

Previous retail experience would be an advantage. The position reports to Daltons Head Office in Matamata. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, friendly, with a desire to provide excellent service, be able to work independently, be able to prioritise and able to manage their time effectively.

The Landscape Yard operates six days per week and work hours can vary due to staff availability. It is anticipated the successful candidate would be required to work alternate Saturdays.

We are looking for the right person to join our new team at Daltons Landscape Supplies, Drury. The successful applicant will be hard-working, able to work independently and be physically fit.

The responsibilities for this role include:

  • General yard work and maintenance
  • Loading of customer vehicles with landscape supplies and growing media
  • Wheels & Forklift Endorsements an advantage but full training will be given to the right applicant.
  • General office and customer services

We are looking for an experienced machine operator to join our team running one of our Form Fill Seal Machines. The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of potting mix and compost packaging machinery.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Read production schedules and plans accordingly to efficiently maintain the operation of packaging machinery
  • Ensure all packaging materials are available
  • Monitor and adjust machine as needed to ensure proper seals, as well as to maintain an efficient and low waste operation
  • Plan ahead for machine changeovers
  • Monitor and check bag weights and product appearance

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience in production-related work
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Applicants for this role require:

  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 25kg - from floor to working height
  • Good communication skills: both verbal and written
  • Math skills sufficient to complete documentation
  • Effective problem-solving skills and good mechanical aptitude

Class 5 driver – Matamata or Tauranga

Daltons Ltd, based in Matamata, are suppliers of bulk and bagged growing media and landscape products to many of NZ’s leading landscapers, retailers and nurseries.
Due to increasing demand Daltons are looking for an experienced truck and trailer driver with a Class 5 licence to join their team.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience with a Roadranger gearbox, however, applicants with only experience with automatic gearbox driving will still be considered. Training will be offered for the right person. This role is to be based out of the Matamata site, however, it may be possible to be based in Tauranga.

The job will involve both pallet deliveries and bulk tipping work, truck and trailer. Ideally, the applicant will also have F and W endorsements but full training will be provided for both licenses if required.

Truck Class 5

Merchandiser - Auckland

This role is responsible for merchandising in the Mt Wellington, Botany and Grey Lynn Bunnings stores twice each week, on Monday and Thursday.

The merchandiser is responsible for assisting Daltons to drive sales through Bunnings by ensuring their products are merchandised and maintained to their high standards. The role is part-time and involves approximately 2 hours in each store on a Monday and Thursday - so 6 hours each Monday and 6 hours each Thursday.

The successful applicants will need to have excellent people skills to ensure they effectively build relationships with the Bunnings team members to ensure they have a common goal to meet customer expectations.

Key tasks include:

  • Complete the vendor in-store call cycle schedule that includes two visits per week per store (two stores for each role): Monday for ordering and Thursday for checking stock levels, general tidiness and placement of product.
  • Provide product training to team members to ensure they are familiar with the features and benefits of the supplier’s products.
  • Place orders for Bunnings to insure minimum stock levels are maintained and ensure packaging and product presentation is in a sellable condition at all times.
  • Maintain merchandise standards in accordance with Bunnings standards, including keeping the area clean & tidy and the shelves stocked.
  • Provide excellent customer service to Bunnings including following up on all orders, customer inquiries etc

The successful applicants will have:

  • Effective organisation and time management skills
  • Intermediate computer/IT skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • The ability to work well as part of a team as well as working autonomously
  • A good work ethic, and be honest and reliable
  • Previous experience merchandising would be an advantage
  • Full drivers licence
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 20kg

Hours: Each visit to each store will be approximately two hours long. However, we need someone with enough flexibility to work longer hours if required during peak times, and additional visits for promotions, staff training, etc. You will be paid a set rate per visit to the stores, along with an hourly wage for extra visits that are required. Mileage is paid between the stores.
