Landscape Supplies Saturday Yard Person, Drury

Weekend Position – Great pay & working conditions.

 

We are looking for the right person to join our Drury Landscape Supplies Team.
The successful applicant will be hard working, able to work independently and be physically fit.
Please note this is a sole charge position.

 

The responsibilities for this role include:

  • General yard work and maintenance.
  • Loading of customer vehicles with landscape supplies and growing media.
  • Full drivers licence essential.
  • Wheels & Forklift Endorsements an advantage but full training will be given to the right applicant.
  • General office and customer services.

 

Candidates should have:

  • Excellent people skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously when required.
  • Be willing to get stuck in and get the job done.
     

 

Working Hours: Saturday 8am - 3pm, with the flexibility to work some Sundays (9am - 3pm) as required to cover for other staff.

 

Note: This job could suit a student with more hours possible during school or university holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Automated Machine Operators, Matamata

Daltons are looking for two new dedicated Machine Operators to join our Team.
 
As a Machine Operator on our automated packaging line, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our potting mix and compost packaging machinery while at the same time ensuring product quality and integrity.
 
What you will do:

  • Read production schedules and plan accordingly
  • Ensure all packaging materials are available for the day’s production
  • Monitor and adjust machines as required to maintain seal integrity and filling consistency.
  • Planning for machine changeovers
  • Understand and follow directions from supervisors as required
  • Monitor bag weights and product quality and appearance
  • Participate as a vital team member while working in a safe and responsible manner

 

What you will need:

  • Enthusiasm
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Prior experience in machine operation or production environment a plus but training can be provided
  • Forklift experience with endorsement an advantage, but again training can be provided.

Warehouse Team Members, Matamata

Full Time/Part Time
 

Daltons are looking for motivated individuals to join our Warehouse Team based in Matamata.
Our Warehouse operates Monday – Friday with some Saturdays as required.

Generally hours are 6.30am – 5.00pm and 6.30am – 12 noon on Saturdays. We operate longer hours during the busy Spring period September – December.

Daltons is happy to discuss flexible working hours and/or days for suitable candidates.

 

What you will do:

  • Accurately pick and pack pallet orders of growing media and landscape supplies.
  • Conduct quality checks on products before packing to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Utilise warehouse management systems to organise and track inventory.
  • General Warehouse duties including operating pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.

 

What you will need:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Class 5 Driver

Daltons Ltd, based in Matamata, are suppliers of bulk and bagged growing media and landscape products to many of NZ’s leading landscapers, retailers and nurseries.

 

Daltons are looking for an experienced truck and trailer driver with a class 5 licence to join their team. Experience with a roadranger gearbox is an advantage but full training can be provided. This role is to be based out of the Matamata site. Matamata is a friendly, supportive community based in the centre of the Waikato with easy access to Tauranga, Rotorua, Hamilton, Auckland and Taupo. The role is working predominantly Monday to Friday, with some possible weekend work.  A maximum of 65 hours per week.
