Daltons in the Community

Daltons are committed to gardening in New Zealand. We support numerous projects around the country and we are thrilled to see these contributions benefit communities of all sizes. Here is a sample of some recent projects we have been a part of.

WW1 Memorial

St Matthew in the City- WW1 100th Anniversary Memorial

CUE Tania of Through the Garden Gate writes,

"Many thanks again for helping us with our  WW1 memorial. We have just put it together and as you can see from the photos the soil and sand make up a big part of it, so thank you especially to Andy who did a delivery run on a Sat. and made the whole build immeasurably easier."

St John Ambulance Depot

Allison Stewart of Bayleys and Eves Realty Waikato/Bay of Plenty/Taranaki writes,

"On behalf of St John I wanted to thank you so much for donating the mulch for the gardens.  We were so fortunate to have businesses like yours step in to help. The gardens are looking 'flash' and I am sure the plants will grow well in the quality mix provided."

CUE Haven

CUE Haven is a native nature reserve for the community. The Royal Forest & Bird Protection Society joined them recently to help plant seedlings using Daltons product. CUE Haven writes,

"This is the third year we’ve had the Forest & Bird Warkworth group out to assist and as always we had a great time with them... A big thank you to Daltons Landscape Supplies for donating the potting mix used today and also Nestle NZ for donating the delicious Nescafe Menu sachets for our volunteers."

CUE Haven

Children from Summerland School and also Wainui School have visited the CUE Haven to learn and explore. CUE Haven writes,

"CUE Haven project and spent some time talking about the impacts of farming and development on native plants and animals and waterways and the benefits of restoration planting.... Today the students potted kohekohe and puriri seedlings.

Many thanks to our generous supporters – Nestle NZ for providing the delicious hot chocolate drink for the students and the coffee for the adults; Daltons, for providing the potting mix the students used to pot up their seedlings, and Scrub Growers Nursery for the manuka trees the students took home to plant."

Lincoln Primary School Spring Fair

Andrew McMenamin, Sarah Morrison and Anna James write,

"On behalf of Lincoln Primary School, its PTA, staff, students and families/whanau, we would like to extend a sincere thank you for the generous contribution you made towards the success of the Lincoln Primary School Spring Fair...

The school is currently experiencing rapid roll growth and through your generosity, we will be able to enhance the new learning spaces that are being built onsite with the installation of permanent seating and shade structures to ensure that the students have protection from the sun during lunch and play breaks...

We are very grateful for your continued support."

WHITE OUT Walk 'n' Wheels

"You contributed to the success of the event. Our objective was to raise awareness around family violence and we achieved that. The event was made possible with the huge contribution from people like you, our wonderful Matamata and Waharoa businesses and community."

Building Unity for a Safer Community (BUSC) is a group of volunteers passionate about reducing family violence and creating a safe community. We recognise that a way to improve the situation is to take an active role and raise awareness.

Coast Youth Community Trust

Allan Robertson says,

“A huge thanks to Daltons for the bags of Premium Garden Mix, Vegetable Mix and Premium Seed Mix they kindly donated to our community garden. The lettuce seedlings you see here were raised by students of Coast Alternative Education School. The gardens are maintained by volunteers, some of whom have community service hours they need to work off... what better way to give back to the community! The produce grown is distributed in food parcels through a local food bank.

So thank you, Daltons. Your donation not only saves us money, it adds life to our gardens which, in turn, grow great produce that can be shared with those in need.”

Pukekohe Under 6 Red Rugby Team

Kerryn Gibson (coach) says,

“These are a great bunch of kids, Mike and myself had a great time coaching them. At times it felt like we were trying to herd cats as young boys get over excited! It was a great experience of which I’m looking forward to doing it again next year.

The boys and parents were rapt with the jackets and Daltons generous sponsorship. One of the boys would not take his off and even slept in it the first night he got it! Having one each of the same jacket with their names on them really made them bond together and I think this reflected in the seasons great results.”
