Daltons Matamata Rose Show 2023

Daltons are proud to support the Matamata Rose Show 2023. We love seeing the wonderful roses grown in our community.

It's truly inspiring to see the abundant talent of gardeners right on our doorstep!

Katherine Mansfield House & Garden

"Huge thanks to Daltons for once again supporting our garden with lots of lovely mulch (1,880 litres to be precise!) and other goodies like lawn fertiliser, plus potting mix and pots for our fundraising plant sale coming up on Saturday 14 October.

Caring for the garden of our Category 1 Historic Place takes time, effort, and money, so the annual donation of supplies from Daltons is hugely appreciated. "

Karaka School’s Ag Day 2023

Karaka School’s Ag Day Committee, PTA, Staff and Students would like to thank Daltons Drury Landscape Yard for your contribution towards our 2023 Ag Day. The day was very successful and thoroughly enjoyed by all. You helped us raise over $35,000 for our school. The proceeds from the day will go towards enhancing our school environment i.e. turf, shade sails etc, which will benefit all our students.
Your support is greatly appreciated!

School Butterfly Habitat Award

Daltons are excited to announce our partnership with the Moths and Butterflies of New Zealand Trust in sponsoring their School Butterfly Habitat Award.

Our native butterflies are in trouble – mostly because many New Zealanders don’t know what they look like or what plants they need. It's important to educate children about these beautiful creatures and their importance in our ecosystem and there are some amazing school butterfly gardens happening all around the country.
This initiative will recognise one of these schools and reward them with a Daltons product prize pack to further inspire their dedication to butterfly conservation.

Applications need to be submitted before 1 August, if you know a school that would like to enter learn more here.

Lynda is doing some great work raising money for Parafed Taranaki which is a non-profit organisation whose vision is "to inspire people with physical disabilities to achieve equality, excellence and wellbeing through Sport and Recreation". She has always grown plants for friends and now donates her time and the proceeds of her plant sales to support this fantastic local charity. So far Lynda's project (as of Dec 2021) has raised $20,048 and her goal is to raise $100,000. All the best Lynda!

Katherine Mansfield House & Garden

Thanks to the Daltons team for the huge load of garden supplies donated to Katherine Mansfield House & Garden last month.

The timing was perfect as we were able to spread the mulch a few days prior to the announcement of Level 4 lockdown. We were thrilled to get some photos of the garden sent through by Thorndon neighbours enjoying the spring growth as they passed on their daily lockdown walk. The garden looks beautiful right now, with spring bulbs blooming including tulips, freesias and daffodils and lots of lush green spring growth.

The mulch and fertiliser you have donated goes a long way to keeping the garden and lawns looking great, and as a non-profit organisation we really appreciate your support.

Incredible Edibles® Pink Ribbon Breakfast

"Incredible edibles® and friends would like to say a very large thank you for the pallet of potting mix and box of fertiliser for our Pink Ribbon Breakfast we hosted recently. Our Pink Ribbon Breakfast ran very smoothly and was a huge success. The sky cleared for us and the sun came out so everyone enjoyed the breakfasts, garden tours, plant sales, raffles. We have raised very close to our target of $5000, which will go towards much-needed research to fight this disease.

Thank you again, we very much appreciate your contribution of the potting mix and fertiliser."

Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust

Jacqui Knight says Daltons support of the Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust has been critical,

“They have been amazing, supporting my work leading a team of volunteers at the Blockhouse Bay Recreational Reserve where we’ve created some habitat, ostensibly for butterflies. We’re organic, and we’ve loved the addition of Daltons mulches and compost to get our plants well established. They have also been a great supporter of our BUTTERFLIES magazine for years.”

Firth Tower, Matamata

Carol Dutton (Firth Tower Assistant) says,

Gardeners Emma, Nigel, and the Firth Tower staff were excited to receive a truckload of Dalton's mix a couple of weeks back, in order to re-establish the Homestead gardens.  It's been a working progress for some time, clearing the whole area of problem weeds and plants that do not belong in a historic setting.

With the addition of this enriched mix, Emma will now be able to start the replanting process and make the Homestead garden look how it would have done around 100 years ago.

St John Ambulance Depot

Allison Stewart of Bayleys and Eves Realty Waikato/Bay of Plenty/Taranaki writes,

"On behalf of St John I wanted to thank you so much for donating the mulch for the gardens.  We were so fortunate to have businesses like yours step in to help. The gardens are looking 'flash' and I am sure the plants will grow well in the quality mix provided."

Lincoln Primary School Spring Fair

Andrew McMenamin, Sarah Morrison and Anna James write,

"On behalf of Lincoln Primary School, its PTA, staff, students and families/whanau, we would like to extend a sincere thank you for the generous contribution you made towards the success of the Lincoln Primary School Spring Fair...

The school is currently experiencing rapid roll growth and through your generosity, we will be able to enhance the new learning spaces that are being built onsite with the installation of permanent seating and shade structures to ensure that the students have protection from the sun during lunch and play breaks...

We are very grateful for your continued support."

Coast Youth Community Trust

Allan Robertson says,

“A huge thanks to Daltons for the bags of Premium Garden Mix, Vegetable Mix and Premium Seed Mix they kindly donated to our community garden. The lettuce seedlings you see here were raised by students of Coast Alternative Education School. The gardens are maintained by volunteers, some of whom have community service hours they need to work off... what better way to give back to the community! The produce grown is distributed in food parcels through a local food bank.

So thank you, Daltons. Your donation not only saves us money, it adds life to our gardens which, in turn, grow great produce that can be shared with those in need.”
