There will always come a time when the potting mix needs changing. This is often necessary when your plant becomes root-bound, or when you notice it isn't thriving as it once did.

Depending on the size of the container and the species of plant, changing the potting mix will be required at least every two years.

Coming into spring is an excellent time to "repot" container plants, a chance to check if the plant is "root bound," if the drainage from the container is adequate, and primarily, to check the state of the potting mix.

You can reuse potting mixes by removing from the pot into a larger container or spread out on a tarp. Sprinkle in some Premium Fertiliser (depending on what you are growing) and mix well. This process revitalises the soil by replenishing the nutrients that have been used, making it ready for another round of planting.
