Best lawn fertiliser and when to apply it in spring
What is the best product to use to fertilise the lawn and also is this done in early or late spring?
Our Daltons Premium Lawn Fertiliser is what we recommend for feeding your lawn. It’s a granular fertiliser that’s easy to apply by hand or with a spreader and contains slow-release nitrogen and potassium to keep your lawn nourished for up to 12 weeks. The balanced formulation (NPK 20:0:5.8 + 1.8 Mg + 2.1 Ca) works well for all grass varieties.
When to apply
Lawn fertiliser is traditionally applied in spring and autumn. In spring, apply once temperatures are on the rise and the soil has begun to dry out after winter. Timing can vary by region, but early spring is a good guide.
For the best year-round results, apply in early spring, early summer, and again in autumn. Before applying any fertiliser, always read and follow the instructions on the bag. Read more helpful advice on growing lawns, tackling pests and diseases in our guide.
