Lots of Blossoms, No Fruit

Please help me with my espaliered blackboy peach. I had lots of blossoms but no fruit. What do I have to do? I understand they fruit on second plus year 'wood', but their growth needs to be 'controlled' as they are growing against a border fence so can't be allowed to grow too high.

The fact that your Black Boy peach had plenty of blossoms means that your pruning technique is correct, promoting second-year wood where peaches are produced, so that is not the issue. With young peach trees, it can be incredibly frustrating as often few or no fruit are produced, even after flowering has been prolific.

Thinking back over the season, did something unusual occur at the time of flowering? Weather can play a big part. Were there exceptionally strong winds? Or perhaps there was a period of heavy rain?

Don't give up! So long as you keep caring for your tree and keeping it in a healthy condition, you will hopefully have a healthy crop of peaches next season.
