Cheese and Parsley Scones

Nothing beats a good cheese scone with lashings of butter.

Makes 6 scones



  • 2 cups flour 
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley 
  • pinch cayenne pepper 
  • 2 cups grated tasty cheese
  • 1 cup milk



  1. Preheat oven to 220ºC. Leave the tray in the oven to heat.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, parsley, and cayenne pepper into a bowl. Mix in cheese. Make a well in the centre.
  3. Pour in the milk and mix quickly with a knife.
  4. Turn out onto a lightly floured bench and quickly shape into a 3 cm thick rectangle. 
  5. Cut the rectangle into thirds and then diagonally slice each third so you end up with 6 triangles. 
  6. Place on a hot tray.
  7. Bake for approx. 15 minutes.

Enjoy warm with lashings of butter!
