Spooky Halloween Fruit Snacks

Banana Ghosts
Ingredients: Bananas, chocolate chips, popsicle sticks (optional).
Instructions:
- Cut the banana in half. You can insert a popsicle stick in the bottom at this point to make them easy to hold and eat.
- Stick chocolate chips into the banana for the eyes and mouth.
- Serve immediately or freeze for a chilling ghostly effect.
Tip: Apple Mouths & Faces Snacks
Keep these apple treats fresh by preparing them just before serving and drizzling lemon juice on the cut sides to prevent browning.
Creepy Green Apple Mouths
Ingredients: Green apples, lemon juice (see tip above), peanut butter (or nut-free alternative), yogurt-covered almonds or sunflower seeds.
Instructions:
- Cut green apples into slices and spread peanut butter on one side of each slice.
- Place two slices together with peanut butter in between to form a “mouth.”
- Insert yogurt-covered almonds or sunflower seeds for teeth.
- Optional: Replace the bottom teeth with a slice of strawberry to create a tongue.
Red Monster Faces
Ingredients: Red apples, lemon juice (see tip above), slivered almonds, toothpicks, chocolate chips, peanut butter or jam.
Instructions:
- Cut apples into quarters and remove the core.
- Cut a slot in the centre of the apple quarters to form a mouth.
- Make small slits on the top and bottom of the “gums” and poke in slivered almonds to create teeth.
- Use a sharp knife to cut out circular eye shapes from another apple (you could also try using a melon/fruit baller spoon).
- Attach these “eyes” to the mouth with toothpicks.
- Add chocolate chips to the eyes using a dab of peanut butter or jam as “glue”.
Pumpkin Mandarins
Ingredients: Small mandarins or clementines, celery
Instructions:
- Peel the mandarins, keeping them whole.
- Insert a small piece of celery at the top to create a “pumpkin stem.”
