Caring for Rhododendrons - Yellowing Leaves

I have some medium sized Rhododendrons on my small lawn area. Some of the leaves are turning yellow. I'm just wondering if I should mulch around the base to kill the grass or prune and fertilise to make them a bit healthier.

Rhododendrons thrive in a soil rich with organic matter (compost etc). Clear all grass growing near the plant and mulch with compost, taking care not to disturb the roots.

The yellowing of leaves indicates a lack of nitrogen. Apply Daltons Premium Acid Fertiliser in early spring and no later than March. The specialised fertiliser provides a balanced supply of nutrients for up to 3 months and promotes healthy green leaves and beautiful blooms.

Do not prune the plant, apart from removing any dead wood or where branches are overly crowded.

Water your Rhododendrons regularly over particularly dry summer months. Apply a layer of Daltons Premium Mulch and Grow around your plant to help reduce weeds and conserve water.
