##### Further Information

How to Use ##### New Plantings

Position plant in the hole. Backfill halfway up the root ball with Daltons Compost or Garden Mix. Place tablet(s) beside the root ball, about 5cm from root tips. Complete backfill, tamp and water.

For new plantings, improve soil structure by blending Daltons Compost or Garden Mix with existing soil prior to planting. Trees and shrubs will benefit from an application of a Daltons mulch product after fertilising.

##### Containers and Tubs

Make one hole for each tablet 5-10cm from side of container, and 10-20cm deep. Insert tablet(s), close holes.

##### Established Trees and Shrubs

Make holes 20-25cm deep. Insert tablets in holes around dripline and between dripline and trunk.

##### Transplanting a 'Forest Pansy' Tree

I purchased a property three years ago with a small urban garden containing several native and exotic mature trees. These are under-plant with younger exotic trees and shrubs, including a tree pansy, ginkgo, and Japanese maple. I believe the tree pansy is struggling for enough light and water in its current position, as I have yet to see it flower. When would be the best time to move it, and what position, conditions and treatment do they prefer?

##### Planting Fruit Trees with Daltons

Nothing is better than your own homegrown juicy fruit. Adding fruit trees to your garden offers you everything an ornamental tree does, but with the added bonus of fruit crops. You don’t need to start a large orchard; it’s easy to incorporate a few fruit trees into your garden planting or even grow them in pots.
