I’m trying to clear a small garden plot that had some type of bulbous evergreen type plant growing. I’ve cleared it all out but the soil is root filled. How do I condition the soil ready for vege planting?

How do I get bigger Feijoas? I have plenty of fruit but they are not big.

I’ve tried to grow carrots but don’t seem to have much success. Can planting them in the same spot cause problems? 

My carrots this year are short and thin. I've thinned them out and I use compost. I do plant them in the same place each season, is this the problem or is it something else?

Can I plant my tomatoes for this year in the same garden spot as I did last year and if so what is the best fertiliser to put in there?

When is a good time to plant carrots?

Over winter we dug up our dahlias and kept them in dry place in sawdust. We prepared the soil with sheep pellets and pot ash. Then in mid-April we planted them, but only eight came up. Some were rotten, others had no sprouts. Where did we go wrong?

I am hoping to plant green chillies, little Jalapenos, this weekend. Last year I had a super harvest. Is it okay to plant in the same area or is a new area better? I noticed that my lettuce is not doing as well this season as the last. Is it because I planted in the same spot as the previous season?

We have made three macrocarpa planter beds. Should we line these beds in heavy black plastic first or just fill the beds up with soil/compost? Any suggestions for our first planting would also be appreciated. 

I have three seven-year-old feijoa trees that were shaded by a large walnut tree. They are quite straggly and have never had more than a couple of flowers. The walnut next door has been trimmed, but what can I now do to ensure some good fruit?
